Opus 40, Saugerties NY, Sept 2018
Opus 40 is a large environmental sculpture in Saugerties, New York, created by sculptor and quarryman Harvey Fite (1903—1976).
Opus 40 comprises a sprawling series of dry-stone ramps, pedestals and platforms covering 6.5 acres of a bluestone quarry.

London may be my favorite city. New York is wonderful, but London has the attraction of it's ancient history.

Highclere Castle, UK, 2019
Highclere Castle is the site where much of the BBC Masterpiece Theater series Downton Abbey and movie was filmed.
The Castle and its grounds are beautiful. We had the opportunity to visit as part of a cultural fundraiser so
there were only a relatively small number of people there.

Before moving to the Island of Bonaire, I have lived in California for most of my life. I am a third generation
Californian, born in Norther California.
California has changed dramatically in my lifetime. The state can now be characterized by it's large population,
traffic jams and Silicon Valley "bro" culture. Despite these factors, California remains a beautiful state.
Photos from a flight over the Alps. These photos remind me of underwater photos, since the reds
disappear in the large column of water vapor laden air.
Mendocino California is on the coast, in Northern California. The cost is granite and has a rugged
beauty that is also found in Big Sur, South of San Francisco.
The drive to Mendocino is about four hours from San Francisco, up windy roads. This makes
Mendocino less crowded than Big Sur and the Carmel area.
Rome is a beautiful mix of the modern and the ancient.
Barcelona is a city that is almost impossible to describe in a few sentences. It is a port,
a sea side city, with great architectural gems. Here are some photos of the gem of Catalonia.
Venice is the bone of an empire that lasted hundreds of years. This makes Venice both
beautiful and tragic at the same time.

Siena is the ancient competitor of Florence (Firenza). They two cities competed as financial centers
until Florence conqured Siena in 1554 in the
Battle of Marciano
Siena never rose to the heights of Florence, but it is still a beautiful city.
